·
Bill stated
that work is still on track for
completion of the project on or
about July 15, 2011.
·
We
discussed the additional
electrical and propane costs
from MDU that have occurred with
the construction. The bill for
this additional cost was
received by Bill and Kringen
Construction will pay these
amounts to Pella.
·
There has
been some work on the outside
brick face. The bricklayer will
be back Monday to begin some of
the work on the front entrance.
·
The
Interiors Committee will be
meeting at 7 PM tonight. They
will finalize some colors for
the cabinets. These will be
matching to the tones on the
beams and the wood ceiling.
·
The small
windows on the south side of the
Fellowship Hall have not had
issues with leaking since they
are completely flashed in and
sealed.
·
The
shingles are here and will be
installed soon.
After the amount of snow
we have had this winter, the
decision has been made to plan
for additional membrane roofing
to extend up on the sloped roof
from the low slope (flat) area.
This will be a cost of about
$800, but we should not have any
issues with seepage, should
future winters also average this
amount of snow.
·
The
elevator will be installed when
there is proof of a permanent
power source. There
are some issues with the final
electrical inspection which may
add some additional costs, but
Gary will research this. He
should have some more
information next week, and then
we will need to have another
Construction Committee meeting
to discuss use of contingency
funds.
·
The door
submittals have gone to the
architect. The frames to the
outer doors are awaiting the
brick face before they are
installed.
·
The piping
and flexible heads are installed
for the sprinkler in the new and
old areas. Next week on Wed
(4/6) and Thurs (4/7) the holes
will be drilled in the sanctuary
for the install. This will be
pending any need for the
sanctuary for unplanned
services. A
small lift will be used and the
pews will be moved. Steve stated
that the Property and Grounds
Committee will get the jig they
use for moving the pews to
Kringen Construction.
The
permanent heads will not be
installed until after the holes
are placed. Steve stated that by
the time the heads will be here
for installation in the
sanctuary, the pews will be gone
for refurbishing.
·
During the
work with the sprinkler system
in the sanctuary, a conduit will
be run to house the wires needed
to move the sound system. Moving
the sound system will be
coordinated by the Property and
Grounds Committee.
·
There was
discussion about some work to be
done with the lights and the
electrical system in the
sanctuary. This will also be
managed by the Property and
Grounds Committee.
·
The west
windows (3) were installed too
low, and this was corrected by
Kringen Construction prior to
the sheet rock work.
·
The stair
pans are installed. These are 2
inches deep and eventually will
have concrete poured in them to
form the riser. Chuck Lowman
will contact Stan and Ross
Rosaaen about construction of
the metal rails. Gary will
follow up with the fabricating
firm about a refund for this
work as Stan and Ross plan to
construct the railing. Bill will
also be involved in coordinating
this.
·
We have
received a verbal bid for
painting that is reasonable.
Pastor George will get a written
and signed bid, and then we will
proceed with professional
painting, with Pella providing
the paint. The initial priming
will be done by Kringen
Construction. The painter will
coordinate work with Kringen to
facilitate a schedule that works
with them for the finish work.
The paint will be purchased
locally.
