BOOK OF FAITH GROUPS TO MEET The "Book of Faith" is an initiative of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) which invites people to explore our first "book of faith" - the Bible. At Pella we will be having a "Book of Faith" course for adults called "Making Sense of Scripture" by David Lose, a professor at Luther Seminary. In this seven session course we will learn about and discuss issues such as "What is the Bible?"; "Is the Bible True?"; "How is the Bible the Word of God?"; "Where Did the Bible Come From?"; "How Can I Read the Bible with Greater Understanding?"; "Is There a 'Center' to Scripture?"; and "What Kind of Authority Does the Bible Hold?". We will meet in six small "Book of Faith" groups (each having 8 to 12 persons) once a month for seven months. Either Pastor George, Pastor Charlane, and Pastor Carol will serve as a facilitator for each group meeting. The initial meetings will be at the following times & homes:
